UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Expresses Gratitude to Citizens and Expats on 53rd National Day

Abu Dhabi: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the nation’s citizens and expatriates in a handwritten note shared on the occasion of the 53rd National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad.

The President expressed his happiness over the UAE and its diverse communities, in a statement he posted on his social media platform X, saying, “To the people of the UAE,” Sheikh Mohammed opened, “On the occasion of Eid Al Etihad, we are proud of the UAE and its people, citizens and residents.”

In his note, he expressed sincere thanks to all those who contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity: “Thank you for your determination. Thank you for your efforts. Thank you for all that you do for this nation.”

The 53rd National Day, observed on December 2, marks the founding of the UAE in 1971. This significant day commemorates the unification of six emirates—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah—into a single nation. Ras Al Khaimah joined the union shortly afterward, completing the federation.

The UAE’s incredible journey is commemorated on Eid Al Etihad, which also honors the nation’s accomplishments and the combined efforts of its residents and foreigners who call it home. The cohesiveness and teamwork that have been essential to the UAE’s achievements throughout the years are emphasized in Sheikh Mohamed’s note.
