UAE Strengthens Humanitarian and Diplomatic Efforts for Ukraine and Sudan

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to easing the humanitarian impact of the Ukraine crisis and supporting peace efforts.

He reiterated this stance during a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky, who is on an official visit to the UAE.

The two leaders met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where they discussed cooperation in key areas, including investment, the economy, renewable energy and food security, as well as other areas that are in line with the development goals of both countries.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to peaceful solutions, emphasizing stability as key to development.

He thanked Zelensky for Ukraine’s support in the UAE-mediated prisoner exchange, highlighting trust in the UAE’s humanitarian role.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for the UAE’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, reaffirming his commitment to stronger ties.

“The UAE demands that a humanitarian ceasefire be observed throughout the holy month of Ramadan, a time of compassion and mercy, in order to lessen the severe suffering endured by the Sudanese people. This is a duty under international humanitarian law, not just a humanitarian request.
