UAE President and Emir of Kuwait Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Gulf Cooperation

His Highness made a major state visit to Kuwait. The UAE’s President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with Kuwait’s Emir, His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The leaders of the two countries discussed ways to increase collaboration in a number of areas in order to advance shared interests, with a focus on strengthening the long-standing historical and fraternal relations between them.

Sheikh Mishal welcomed Sheikh Mohamed when he arrived in Kuwait and conveyed his enthusiasm for the UAE’s ongoing development under Sheikh Mohamed’s leadership. The UAE is a “second home” for the President, and Sheikh Mishal welcomed him with open arms and emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to fostering closer ties with the country.

The leaders emphasized the need of continued cooperation to achieve the developmental objectives of both countries while highlighting the shared success in a number of areas, especially in economic, trade, and investment connections. The two chiefs of state reiterated their commitment to strengthening the ties between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, which are based on a strong sense of fraternity, mutual respect, and a shared vision for a successful future.

The two leaders spoke about their bilateral relationship and emphasized further importance of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiatives, especially in the areas of regional security and stability. Both reiterated their support for a single Gulf strategy to deal with regional issues, especially in light of the current situations in Gaza and Lebanon. They called for increased international efforts to end hostilities and guarantee the safety of civilians, in accordance with international humanitarian law.

The leaders reaffirmed their support for Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, while Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates pledged to continue to help the Lebanese people in the face of ongoing problems. They underlined the urgency of international action to prevent the deterioration of the situation in Lebanon and to save innocent people from the consequences of the ongoing hostilities.

Sheikh Mohamed and Sheikh Mishal, speaking more broadly on the Middle East, emphasized the need to prevent the region’s conflict from getting worse and to strive for a fair and sustainable peace. In an effort to find a fair manner to settle the ongoing tensions, they underlined the significance of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem as a means of achieving regional security and stability.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed conveyed his appreciation for the cordial reception in Kuwait and the solid partnership between the two nations. He highlighted the historical, family, and geographic links that have long bound Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates together, emphasizing that they are based on respect and trust. He emphasized that future cooperation must include economic cooperation, and that Kuwait continues to be one of the UAE’s most important allies in promoting regional development and advancement.

According to Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the UAE’s state visit marks a new chapter in the lengthy history of UAE-Kuwait relations, which were initially established by Kuwait’s former leadership and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
He recognized the value of the Kuwait-UAE Joint Committee, which is crucial in coordinating activities related to regional concerns, commerce, and investment.

The Emir of Kuwait also expressed his pride in the alignment of the two nations’ positions on critical regional and international matters, particularly in times of geopolitical instability. The meeting showed how the UAE and Kuwait have a solid and long-lasting partnership based on respect, common interests, and a dedication to stability in the Gulf and beyond.
