UAE Launches Free Instant eSIM with 10GB Data for Tourists

Tourists visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now avail a free instant eSIM offering 10GB of free data. This new service improves connectivity and convenience for visitors, ensuring they stay connected from the moment they arrive

The new eSIM introduced by e& offers a hassle-free connectivity experience without the need for a SIM card. Tourists can scan a QR code and use facial recognition technology to ensure seamless and convenient connectivity upon arrival in the UAE.

Visitors can activate their “Free Visitor Line eSIM” immediately after clearing the immigration desk, according to a statement from the UAE’s leading telecom service provider. The free eSIM includes 10GB of data and is valid for one day.

“An essential step in our road towards digital transformation has been reached with the release of our free Visitor Line eSIMs’ self-activation capability. It emphasizes our dedication to innovation while reiterating our commitment to offering outstanding client convenience. We believe this initiative will set a new standard for mobile connectivity,” said Khalij. Khaled Elgouli, chief consumer officer at e&, was quoted by the Times as saying.

Last year, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai alone recorded more than 17.15 million international visitors.

Abu Dhabi also saw three percent growth in its population in the same year, while Dubai continues to be the most populous city in the UAE with 8 million international overnight visitors in 2023.
