UAE Minister Addresses Arctic Circle Assembly on Climate Change

Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, the UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, delivered a keynote speech at the tenth anniversary meeting of The Arctic Circle Assembly in Iceland. The Arctic Circle is a crucial region for studying climate change impacts. Almheiri emphasized the UAE’s role in hosting COP28 and its commitment to driving global climate action. The assembly, with over 2,000 participants from 60 countries, underscores the global concern over climate change’s potential impacts. Almheiri highlighted the Arctic’s critical role in regulating global temperatures and sea levels, noting its alarming warming rate compared to other regions.
