UAE Launches $100 Million Relief Campaign for Lebanon Amid Crisis
The UAE has launched the “Emirates is with you, Lebanon” relief campaign to support the country and its people amid the Israeli occupation.
President Sheikh Mohammed’s initiative provides Lebanon with an emergency humanitarian relief package worth $100 million.
The United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, on Friday sent an aid plane carrying 40 tons of emergency medical supplies.
The flight took off from Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai with first aid packages under the new relief campaign.
The flight was sent as part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to support Lebanon.
The UAE has expressed deep concern over the consequences of the increasing attacks and dangerous situation in Lebanon and its impact on stability in the region.
Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said, “These efforts come within the framework of the desire of the wise leadership of the UAE to provide emergency humanitarian support around the world and embody the government’s commitment. The leadership and its people continue to strive to be at the forefront of the nations values of unity and cooperation and aid, support and assistance to humanity.
She said the flight marks the beginning of the UAE’s response to the emergency situation in Lebanon and the Emirates will continue to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to alleviate suffering and meet urgent needs, particularly to vulnerable groups.
