Indian woman Komal Parmar and her 20-year-old son Ayush travel to Dubai in search of her husband Sanjay Motilal Parmar, who has been missing for over three years.

53-year-old Parmar from Vadodara, Gujarat, suddenly disappeared without any trace. According to the family, he was working as a constructor in Sharjah.

The mother and son arrived in Dubai last week and said, “There is no activity even on Sanjay’s Facebook account. We have hit a dead end and money is running out fast,” a tearful Komal said in an interview with Khaleej Times on Tuesday.

Parmar entered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a visit visa in March 2020. He last spoke to his family in March 2021. After several weeks without communication, his family contacted the UAE authorities through the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and made a request. to declare him missing.

Reports suggest that Komal received a disturbing message from Parmar’s Facebook account in his mother tongue Gujarati. The message said he had lost his phone, a method of communication he had never used to contact her before. She immediately replied and tried to call him through messenger, but got no response. “That’s not like him. He always made sure we could reach him. None of this makes sense,” she added.

The family also made contact with Indian lawmakers in their area, who notified the embassy. According to Komal, she received the most recent official commutation from the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi on August 13, which states that Sanjay Parmar is still in the United Arab Emirates and is not facing any judicial proceedings. According to Komal, his Sharjah-based employer, he is “absconding”..

In the ongoing search for Parmar, the mother and son also reached out to the local Indian community in the UAE and circulated his photo in a Whatsapp group in the hope of getting any clue.

No matter how many efforts the authorities and family members made, his whereabouts could not be found. His disappearance has devastated his family, especially his wife and two grown sons.
