UAE Extends Arab Government Excellence Award for Four More Years

Dubai [UAE] February 16: The UAE government, in a strategic partnership with the Arab League, has extended the Arab Government Excellence Award for another four years, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The goal of the award is to encourage and support better performance leadership in the public sector of the area.

On the last day of the conference, Mohammed Al Gergawi, the UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit (WGS), and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, signed the agreement.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit emphasized the significance of the prize in promoting and inspiring the performance of the Arab administration. He emphasized how it promotes creative work methods to reach the maximum levels of efficiency and production. “The award encourages governments to think boldly, embrace competitiveness, and excel,” Abul Qaid said.

The Arab Government Excellence Award, according to Al Gergawi, is in line with the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to encourage Arab governments and public sector leaders to develop best practices that systematically recognize excellence and good performance.

The Arab Government Excellence Award, according to Al Gergawi, demonstrates the UAE and the Arab League’s common understanding of the importance of institutionalizing the performance and services of Arab governments.

According to Al Gergawi, “The award celebrates institutions and individuals that have transformed social services and quality of life into a systematic and sustainable approach and a model for development across the Arab world, while reflecting our joint efforts to promote best initiatives, programs and practices in the public sector,” Al Gergawi said.

Under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prize was introduced in May 2019 with the goal of motivating Arab government institutions to embrace international best practices in order to enhance the standard of living. It aims to boost institutional effectiveness, enhance the provision of public services, encourage healthy competition, and make it easier for people to share success stories and expertise.

The award recognizes outstanding government institutions and employees who achieve exceptional and sustainable results in public sector performance and play a role in advancing excellence across the Arab world.

The goal is to encourage a creative and innovative culture within government in order to improve service quality and efficiency. Its goal is to honor government agencies that employ smart technology to spur innovation, offer citizens top-notch services, save time and effort, and enhance their quality of life.

The Arab Government Excellence Award, which has recognized 66 winners in its three editions over the previous few years, honors public sector professionals, government agencies, and ministries throughout the Arab world.

The award also featured special recognition for outstanding initiatives that have transformed excellence into a driving force for government progress and achievement.
