UAE elected to IAACA executive board
UAE’s IAACA role spotlights its leadership in global anti-corruption efforts

UAE Secures Seat on IAACA Executive Board, Underscoring Global Anti-Corruption Leadership
Abu Dhabi [UAE], May 20 – The UAE Accountability Authority has been elected to the Executive Board of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) during the association’s first council meeting of 2025. This milestone reflects the UAE’s growing global importance in promoting integrity, transparency and good governance.
The selection reflects the Authority’s key objective of strengthening the country’s regulatory framework in line with international best practices in corporate accountability and anti-corruption. It also emphasizes how the UAE’s contribution to global anti-corruption initiatives and dedication to moral government both domestically and internationally are becoming more widely acknowledged.
The UAE Accountability Commission stressed in a formal statement that this new role on the IAACA Executive Board will enhance the UAE’s ability to influence global policy debates, share expertise, and support international initiatives aimed at fostering transparency in public administration.
This new achievement is part of a series of foreign appointments that demonstrate the UAE’s dominance in the region. In September 2024, the Commission was selected to join the UNODC’s GlobE Network Steering Committee, coordinating its global anti-corruption cooperation. In the same month, it joined the Executive Board of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), highlighting its regional leadership in public audit and governance.
With more than 180 member countries, the IAACA is an independent, non-political organization that greatly advances the UN Convention against Corruption by bolstering anti-corruption groups and encouraging international cooperation.
The UAE’s membership in these high-level bodies reflects its continued commitment to building a transparent, accountable, and corruption-free governance system on both the national and international stages.
