UAE Sends 15th Aid Flight to Lebanon, Delivering 40 Tonnes of Essential Supplies in Ongoing Humanitarian Campaign

Abu Dhabi [UAE], November 1: As part of its ongoing “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign, the United Arab Emirates has sent the sixteenth rescue plane, demonstrating its continued commitment to helping Lebanon. This most recent delivery included 40 tonnes more of vital food packages, with an emphasis on feeding undernourished children. In order to address the pressing needs of the Lebanese people in the face of difficult conditions, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, ordered this humanitarian effort.

Milestone in Aid Deliveries
Since October 2024, the UAE has sent a total of 672 tonnes of relief supplies to Lebanon, with each phase closely overseen by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, alongside Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. This consistent delivery of aid underscores the UAE’s sustained efforts to support Lebanon through ongoing hardship.

Leadership’s Dedication to Humanitarian Principles
The UAE leadership’s commitment to promptly addressing Lebanon’s humanitarian needs was underlined by Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and Member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.
He confirmed that these relief initiatives are firmly based on the ideals of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late founding father of the United Arab Emirates, and demonstrate a dedication to offering prompt aid in times of need. These principles have shaped the UAE’s history of providing international aid and are widely accepted in the country’s society.

Comprehensive Regional Assistance
Apart from aiding Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates has also provided humanitarian assistance to Syrians who are returning home from Lebanon, collaborating with regional humanitarian and Emirati charitable organizations to ensure a seamless transfer. This more comprehensive aid seeks to lessen the humanitarian effects of the ongoing crisis, promote early recovery, and improve regional stability. With 772 tonnes designated for Syria and Lebanon, the UAE has so far contributed 2,772 tonnes of humanitarian aid. As an additional indication of the UAE’s dedication to the stability and well-being of the Lebanese and Syrian people, 2,000 tonnes of aid were recently delivered via a UAE relief ship that anchored in Beirut.

Through its ongoing relief efforts, the UAE reaffirms its role as a steadfast partner in regional humanitarian aid, maintaining an air bridge and sea routes to ensure timely delivery of critical supplies. These efforts reflect not only the UAE’s commitment to Lebanon but also its broader humanitarian mission to assist communities in crisis and promote long-term security and stability in the region.
