UAE Envoy Opens 4 Padel Courts at Jindal University in Haryana
Abdulnasser Alshaali, the UAE’s ambassador to India, opened four modern padel courts at OP Jindal Global University (JGU) in Sonepat on Tuesday. These courts bear the names of well-known UAE airlines, including FlyDubai, Etihad, Emirates, and Air Arabia. Padel tennis has been quite popular in India in recent years, and Alshaali voiced his excitement over the sport’s explosive rise in the United Arab Emirates. He underlined that in addition to giving Jindal University students a fun and sociable pastime, the new courts will give the school the chance to hold international padel competitions and training camps.
The inauguration ceremony highlighted the strong ties between the UAE and India, emphasizing their shared commitment to furthering cooperation across various sectors. The construction of the padel courts, according to Alshaali, is a concrete step in improving bilateral ties. Raj Kumar, vice-chancellor of Jindal University, stated, “The event served as a reminder of the potential opportunities created through collaboration, whether in sports, education, business, or cultural exchange.”
Since the padel courts were opened, the UAE’s growing interest in Indian sports has taken a new turn.
