UAE and India Strengthen Cultural Ties Through Strategic Partnership
Strengthening Bilateral Cultural Relations
A high-level meeting between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India was recently held to enhance cultural cooperation and creative partnerships. The meeting was co-chaired by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi and K. Nandini Singla, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Mubarak Al Nakhi, Ghanem Al Hajeri, Abdulnasser Alshaali, and Abdelrahman Al Maeeni were among the important UAE officials present.
Important Conversations: Creative Cooperation and Cultural Council
The meeting’s main goal was to operationalize the India-UAE Cultural Council with an emphasis on enhancing interpersonal ties. The value of cooperation in the creative industries, education, the arts, and cultural preservation was underlined by both parties. Ways to engage and nurture young talent were also discussed.
The establishment of an “India House” in the UAE is one of the key topics. Apart from promoting cultural dialogue and better understanding between the two countries, the proposed cultural centre seeks to highlight India’s artistic heritage.
Enhancing business cooperation and innovation
The delegates also explored ways to promote corporate partnerships in the cultural sector and support innovative start-ups. It was discussed that the creation of thematic sub-groups would ensure organised cooperation in priority areas. These projects are aimed at fostering creativity and opening doors in the arts and creative sectors of both countries.
Speaking about the collaboration, Noora bint Mohammed Al Kaabi said:
“This meeting with Nandini Singla and the ICCR delegation highlights the commitment of both countries to enhance cultural and creative partnerships.. By expanding cultural exchanges and supporting innovation, we are reinforcing the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and India.”
Commitment to Future Initiatives
The discussions concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to implementing concrete initiatives that are in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. These initiatives will focus on delivering tangible outcomes, benefiting both countries culturally and economically.
By prioritizing cultural diplomacy, artistic collaboration, and investment in the creative industries, the UAE and India continue to strengthen their long-standing relationship, ensuring mutual growth and deeper cultural ties in the years to come.
