Alhind Group to Launch Alhind Air, Offering Budget Flights for Regional Indian Routes

A major player in the third travel market is Kerala-based travel service operator Alhind Group, which is launching its own airline Alhind Air, a destination for overnight stays. The team, which has three stints in the travel industry, has received initial approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to begin operations.

Alhind Air is in the final stages of getting the necessary clearances, said Mohammad Haris. Recently, the Group submitted the necessary flight logs for landing clearance at Cochin International Airport Limited (SIAL). According to Khaleej Times, operations will begin in January 2025 or perhaps thereabouts.

Alhind Airlines is launched with three ATR-72 turboprop aircraft. The airline will focus on local routes in South India, connecting major cities like Kochi, Bangalore, Monsoon and Chennai. The group makes initial investments ranging from Rs 200 crore to Rs 500 crore. Alhind Group has received support from Cochin International Airport for its operations, which will begin once approvals for the appointment of pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff are completed.

Known for its diversified travel services like air ticket, holiday packages, Haj-Umrah services, visas, money exchange, Alhind Group has a turnover of 20,000 crores and strong shrinkage. This strong foundation is expected to facilitate the successful launch of the new airline.

Alhind Group is planning to enter the aviation industry to increase and reduce air fares and improve passenger service quality. The strategic launch is expected to benefit the growing air traffic between India and the Gulf sector, with more than one aircraft benefiting from the group’s established role as General Sales Agent (GSE).

Alhind Air’s equity launch represents a new chapter in the Group’s long-term commitment to delivering quality travel services and sustaining significant growth in operations.
