UAE President Honors Chile’s Environment Minister with Zayed Second Medal

Santiago [Chile], December 20: President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded Professor Maisa Rojas, Minister of the Environment of Chile, a second medal, in recognition of her contribution to the success of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), which was hosted by the UAE last year.

The award ceremony was held at a reception hosted by Rojas in honour of the UAE Ambassador to Chile, Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Santiago.

During the ceremony, Rojas expressed her appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the award and praised the historic UAE consensus reached at COP28.

Al Neyadi, for his part, congratulated Rojas on the award and stressed the need to promote greater international partnerships and cooperation in implementing sustainability concepts on a broad scale, given the rapid changes currently observed worldwide.

Al Neyadi also commended Chile’s participation in COP28 and its support for the historic UAE Consensus, which fosters coordination and cooperation to protect humanity and the planet.
