Saudi Arabia get second win of ACC Challenger Cup with eight-wicket victory over Bhutan

Saudi Arabia won the toss and elected to bowl to give a chance for their excellent bowling attack to test Bhutan’s batsmen

In Bangkok on Saturday, Saudi Arabia solidified their position in the ACC T20 Challenger Cup semifinals with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Bhutan in the second round of Group A matches.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, Saudi Arabia strategically utilized their outstanding bowling attack to challenge Bhutan’s batsmen. Despite Bhutan’s initial promise, reaching 67 for 2, their innings collapsed, ultimately being bowled out for 89. The Greens efficiently pursued their 90-run target, achieving victory within 11 overs while losing only two wickets.

Bhutan, coming off a previous loss to Indonesia by 16 runs, faced another setback in the tournament.

Notably, Saudi Arabia’s Faisal Khan, recovering from a head injury sustained against Cambodia, was sidelined for this match. Imran Yousaf, his replacement who had showcased a stellar performance with three wickets in the same encounter, also did not feature in the playing XI.
