Sri Lanka Initiates Visa-Free Entry for Indian Tourists in Pilot Project

Sri Lanka has launched a pilot project offering visa-free entry to Indian tourists, effective immediately until March 21, 2024. This initiative aims to boost tourism and strengthen ties between the two countries. Additionally, citizens from China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand have been included in this pilot project. The Sri Lankan cabinet has also proposed the introduction of an e-ticketing system for major tourist sites, which is expected to streamline the visiting process and enhance the overall tourist experience. This move is anticipated to be both cost-effective and time-saving for travelers.
