Saudi Ministry Introduces Incentives for Reporting Agricultural Violations

The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia has released draft rules outlining incentive rewards for individuals who assist in exposing violations of the Agricultural Law. Whistleblowers stand to receive financial rewards ranging from SR1000 to SR50,000 based on the merits of their reports. To qualify, the report must lead to the detection of a violation, and the whistleblower must not be related to the inspector responsible for the reported violation. The rewards committee, formed by the minister, will evaluate cases based on the violation’s severity, difficulty of detection, and the associated fine.
