Saudi Authorities Make Significant Drug Busts Across the Kingdom

In a series of targeted operations, Saudi authorities have seized substantial quantities of illegal drugs and detained multiple suspects involved in drug trafficking. The successful efforts took place in various regions, demonstrating a strong commitment to combating the illicit drug trade within the country.
In the Jazan region, Border Guard patrols intercepted a smuggling attempt, confiscating 120 kg of qat in Al-Ardah governorate. Another operation in Al-Dayr governorate resulted in the apprehension of seven individuals connected to the attempted trafficking of 105 kg of qat. In a separate incident in Jazan, an Ethiopian national was arrested for allegedly smuggling 163 kg of qat in Al-Ardah governorate.
Further southwest in Jazan, officials from the regional Criminal Investigation and Research Department apprehended a Yemeni national involved in the trafficking of hashish. Meanwhile, in a coordinated effort by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, two Saudi nationals were detained in the Al-Edabi governorate of Jazan for attempting to smuggle amphetamines.
In the Makkah region, police successfully arrested a Saudi national on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, heroin, amphetamine, and other controlled substances. Additionally, in Qassim, officers from the General Directorate of Narcotics Control apprehended a Saudi citizen in connection with the trafficking of hashish and amphetamine.
All cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution Department, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
