Saudi Arabia Halts In-Person Classes in Various Regions Amid Heavy Rains

The General Administration of Education across multiple regions in Saudi Arabia has taken the precautionary measure of suspending in-person classes in several cities, including Makkah, Madinah, AlUla, Jeddah, Rabigh, Khulais, Asir, Jazan, and Tabuk, due to the onset of heavy rains.

This suspension encompasses both male and female students across diverse educational levels, as well as school staff and education offices. To ensure continuity in education, classes will transition to remote learning via the Madrasati platform.

The decision is primarily motivated by the commitment to safeguard the well-being of all individuals, considering the prevalent heavy rainfall experienced in various parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to a report from the National Centre of Metrology (NCM), moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated in most regions of the Kingdom until the upcoming Tuesday. The NCM has strongly advised the public to exercise utmost caution, steer clear of flood-prone areas and valleys, and adhere diligently to the guidance provided by relevant authorities in order to stay secure during this period.
