Saudi Arabia Grants Mining Licenses to Ajlan & Bros., Norinco, Royal Roads, and MSB Holding

Latest development, Saudi Arabia has announced the awarding of mining exploration licenses in the fourth round of tenders, as reported by the state news agency.

The consortium of Ajlan & Bros. Company and Norinco emerged victorious, securing a license to explore at Bir Ammq. This mining site is situated in the city of Mahd Al-Dhahab in western Saudi Arabia, covering an expansive area exceeding 187 square kilometers (72.2 square miles). The site boasts significant mineral deposits, particularly of copper and zinc.

Simultaneously, another consortium, comprising the Royal Roads Company and MSB Holding Company, secured a license to explore at Jabal Al-Sahabiya. Located in Tathleeth in the southern region, this mining site spans an estimated area of over 283 square kilometers and holds deposits of zinc, lead, and copper.

This strategic move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to tap into its rich mineral resources and further diversify its economic portfolio. The exploration of these sites not only holds the potential for substantial resource extraction but also contributes to the overall economic development of the region.
