DUBAI RIDE – Tens of thousands of residents are expected to pass Dubai’s landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday as part of the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC).
Following last year’s 35,000 participants, the fifth edition is expected to be even bigger, organizers said in a media statement on Tuesday.
The Dubai Ride includes a “family-friendly” 4km downtown route along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. Starting at 6:15am from The Dubai Mall, the “relaxed and scenic route” will take cyclists past the Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa.
Long road
If you’re a seasoned cyclist looking for a more challenging route, opt for the spectacular 12km course on Sheikh Zayed Road, pedaling past the Burj Khalifa, the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Canal.
In addition, starting at 6:15 am, the course from Dubai World Trade Center to Safa Park starts from five locations: Museum of the Future (MOTF), Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Center.
