Pakistani Military-Civil Delegation Visits UAE to Boost Strategic and Academic Ties
Abu Dhabi: A high-level delegation from Pakistan’s premier military institution, the National Defense University (NDU), has arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a foreign study tour aimed at strengthening bilateral dialogue and academic cooperation between the two nations.
The delegation, comprising representatives of allied nations, senior military officers and civil service officials, is participating in the National Security and Warfare Course (NSWC), a flagship programme of the NDU in Islamabad. The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi welcomed the delegation, which stressed the value of such interactions in fostering strategic cooperation and understanding between the two countries.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi welcomed the delegation and stressed the long-standing and expanding relationship between the two countries. He stressed that such visits strengthen cooperation in education, diplomacy and security.
The visit comes against the backdrop of steadily growing Pakistan-UAE relations, especially in the areas of trade, investment and infrastructure. The UAE, Pakistan’s third largest trading partner, has invested over $10 billion in the country in the last two decades and is home to over a million Pakistani expatriates. The two countries recently signed agreements worth over $3 billion in January 2024, further strengthening their strategic and economic partnership.
