In the first agreement, a consortium comprising Electricité de France, EDF Renewables (EDF Group), Electric Power Development Co (J-POWER), and Yamna embarks on a visionary quest to harness renewable energy sources. Leveraging 4.5 GW of wind and solar energy, complemented by state-of-the-art battery storage and electrolyzer technology, this transformative project aims to produce 1 million tonnes of green ammonia annually, catapulting Oman to the forefront of clean energy exports.
Simultaneously, in the second agreement, Actis, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure investment, and Fortescue, a trailblazer in green energy and technology, unite to chart a bold course towards a greener future. This strategic partnership envisages the development of up to 4.5 GW of wind and solar energy capacity, powering electrolyzers capable of producing 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
