Muscat Municipality has implemented a fine of OMR 100 for individuals disposing of waste in undesignated spaces. In an official statement, the municipality emphasized that the penalty for improper waste disposal is applicable to those found disposing of waste in areas not designated for such purposes. In the case of repeated violations, the fine will be doubled.
The municipality’s statement outlined the procedure for addressing such violations, stating, “The violator is given one day to transport the waste to the designated places.” This measure aims to curb improper waste disposal and promote responsible waste management practices within the community.
By enforcing fines for unauthorized waste disposal, Muscat Municipality seeks to create a cleaner and more environmentally conscious city, encouraging residents to use designated waste disposal areas for the proper management of their waste.
