UAE President Allocates $5 Million to Support Gaza Polio Vaccination Drive

As the virus resurfaces in Gaza, President Sheikh Muqaddizin Saeed Al Nahyan has given aid to a key paleo organization in Gaza, with a $5 million bailout from the United Arab Emirates.

The World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and UNRWA have launched a two-round campaign to administer two doses of polio vaccine to 640,000 Kazakh children under the age of 10 in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. And widespread local outbreaks are prevented.

The campaign began in July 2024 after the polio virus was discovered in Gaza. On August 23, the World Health Organization confirmed that at least one child in Gaza had been paralyzed by type 2 poliovirus, the territory’s first in 25 years.

Under His Highness’ directive, the United Arab Emirates is providing more than 40,000 tons of emergency supplies for food, medical aid, and shelter supplies, a prerequisite for humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

The United Arab Emirates has a hospital in southern Gaza and a smart hospital in the Egyptian port of Al-Arish, which has treated more than 27,000 wounded and wounded. Another initiative is that more than 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients are being treated in UAE hospitals.

With water and food security a firm goal, six water desalination plants have been installed in Rafah, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, with a capacity of 1.6 million gallons a day.
