King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2023 Enters Guinness World Records as Largest Falconry Competition

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2023 has made history by entering the Guinness World Records as the largest falconry competition globally, securing this achievement for the third time. Organized by the Saudi Falcons Club, the festival saw an impressive participation of 2,654 falcons, reaffirming its significance in preserving Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage. The event took place from November 28 to December 14 at the Saudi Falcons Club headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh. This accomplishment reflects strong support from the country’s leadership and emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s commitment to falconry traditions. The festival has previously set Guinness World Records in its inaugural year and in 2019, with 1,723 and 2,350 participating falcons, respectively. Falconers from Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and worldwide took part in the competitions, competing for awards in the Al-Mazayen and Al-Milwah categories. The festival’s substantial prizes, exceeding SR33.6 million, highlight its significance in the global falconry community. Additionally, the Saudi Falcons Club, in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla governorate, will organize the first AlUla Falconry Cup 2023 from December 28 to January 5. This upcoming event is expected to offer prizes worth up to SR60 million, making it the falconry competition with the largest financial rewards globally.
