Iran, UAE urge diplomatic action to stop Gaza, Yemen violence amid Israeli, US airstrikes

Iran and UAE Condemn Israeli and US Raids on Gaza and Yemen, Call for Regional Action
Tehran, March 22 – In a phone conversation on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan voiced strong concerns over Israel’s renewed military assault on Gaza and the United States’ ongoing airstrikes in Yemen. Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for regional and international intervention to halt escalating violence.
Condemnation of Israeli Attacks on Gaza
Araghchi denounced Israel’s resumed military campaign in Gaza, highlighting the deaths of nearly a thousand Palestinians since the latest wave of air and ground assaults began on Tuesday. He accused Israel of blatantly violating a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, further aggravating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The Iranian minister also called for a coordinated response from Islamic and regional nations to pressure Israel into halting its operations. He called for immediate political and diplomatic measures to stop additional civilian deaths and destabilization in the area.
Criticism of U.S. Airstrikes in Yemen
Speaking about the situation in Yemen, Araghchi denounced the US for its ongoing war actions that have killed countless civilians, including women and children.
He accused Washington of targeting Yemen’s already fragile infrastructure, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the country.
The Iranian foreign minister argued that the U.S. strikes were an attempt to curb Yemen’s pro-Palestinian resistance, which has been carrying out operations against strategic Israeli locations since the resurgence of the Gaza conflict.
UAE Demands Diplomatic Measures to Stop the Escalation
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed similar concerns to Araqchi, describing the deteriorating security situation in the region as “deeply concerning.” The UAE minister urged regional countries to engage in diplomatic engagements to prevent further instability and escalation of hostilities.
Growing Crisis in Yemen and Gaza
Israeli forces are reportedly violating international humanitarian law by intensifying airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza, targeting civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and refugee camps. Meanwhile, US airstrikes in Yemen are worsening the situation. A recent attack on a residential area of Sanaa claimed the lives of scores of civilians, including children.
As tensions rise, Iran and the UAE are calling for urgent joint action from regional powers to address the escalating crisis and prevent a further humanitarian catastrophe.
