Heavy rain in Oman: Meteorological Department issued flood warning
According to Oman Meteorological Department, a low pressure area will prevail in Oman in the coming days. This information is informed by recently released weather maps and forecasts of the National Multi-Hazard Warning Center.
Most of the places in Oman are cloudy and some places have recorded rainfall of 10-30 mm. Therefore, it has been reported that flash floods may occur in southern Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. Apart from these, it has been reported that the sky is partly cloudy in other districts and there is a possibility of rain there as well.
It has also been reported that thundershowers are likely to occur in the Ajhar hills, the rains here may extend to the desert areas, and dusty winds are likely to blow in the desert areas.
Rough seas are expected along the coast of Oman, with maximum wave height of 1.5 – 2.5 meters, and rough seas of up to 4 meters are expected along Arabian Sea coasts.
Due to this, the Meteorological Department has warned people traveling in the sea to take precautionary measures.
