Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls: A Vision of Natural Beauty Taking Shape
The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is making significant progress, as revealed in recent photos. One striking image showcases the canal’s path, which will transport water from the falls to the lake at the project’s opposite end. Another photo provides a sneak peek into the design of the shops that will be part of the project.
Notably, citizens residing in Hatta will receive these retail spaces free of cost, as part of a grant by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This initiative aims to empower local communities.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), emphasized that this Dh46-million project is poised to create a sustainable natural environment. The design ingeniously utilizes the slope of the upper dam at the Hatta plant to form a captivating natural waterfall. The water used in this feature will be collected, recycled, and pumped back to the dam’s summit, demonstrating a commitment to resource efficiency.
The project’s architectural inspiration draws from the hexagonal structure of beehives, paying homage to Hatta’s renowned honey production. It encompasses four oases interconnected by picturesque bridges over the water canal.
These waterfalls are poised to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for tourists, allowing them to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Hatta mountains, according to Al Tayer.
Within the four oases, visitors can look forward to coffee shops, restaurants, children’s playgrounds, as well as shops selling local honey, natural products, and souvenirs. This multifaceted project is set to become a prominent attraction, further enhancing Hatta’s appeal as a destination for both residents and tourists alike.
