Hamdan bin Mohammed Launches ’71 Challenge’ for Young Government Leaders

Dubai [UAE], November 6: During the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, introduced the ’71 Challenge for Young Government Leaders’.

This initiative aims to empower and engage young leaders, fostering their potential and preparing them for future leadership roles, thus supporting the UAE’s long-term vision.

The challenge aligns with the directives of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, focusing on preparing a new generation of capable government leaders. Hamdan emphasized that young people are key drivers of the nation’s progress, fueling innovation and growth, and this program will help refine their leadership skills, making them integral to the UAE’s development.

Under the direction of the Government Development and Future Office and the UAE Government Leaders Programme, the challenge will help young professionals hone their leadership abilities and equip them to solve problems creatively, increasing the UAE’s competitiveness globally.

During the six-month challenge, 45 young government leaders will work on projects spanning eight strategic pillars, such as economic productivity, sports excellence, digital transformation, education and technology, family and community solidarity, entrepreneurship, and global media influence. Top-performing leaders will receive recognition for their contributions after the projects have been evaluated.

“The challenge reflects the UAE’s vision to cultivate a new generation of leaders capable of driving the country through rapid transformations and challenges in key sectors,” said Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future.
