Flydubai Crowned “Airline of the Year” at Aviator Middle East Awards

Dubai-based carrier Flydubai has been honored with the prestigious title of “Airline of the Year” at the Aviator Middle East Awards, formerly known as The Aviation Business Middle East Awards. The award, presented at a ceremony in Dubai and accepted by Daniel Kerrison, Senior Vice President of Inflight Operations at Flydubai, recognizes airlines that exhibit exceptional commitment to passenger satisfaction, safety, innovation, and operational excellence in the region.

The recognition, determined through voting by industry experts, applauds Flydubai for its industry-leading practices in delivering outstanding inflight experiences, efficient operations, and significant contributions to enhancing the Middle East’s global connectivity, thereby driving the region’s economic growth.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at Flydubai, expressed gratitude for the accolade, stating, “We are honored to have been awarded ‘Airline of the Year’ at the Aviator Middle East event. This award recognizes our commitment to making travel more accessible across the region, providing the right product at the right time, and supporting Dubai’s aviation hub.”

Flydubai has been on an expansion trajectory, adding over 20 destinations to its network since the beginning of 2023. The carrier’s recent launches include flights to Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand, Milan-Bergamo in Italy, Cairo in Egypt, and Poznan in Poland. Future plans include the introduction of flights to Mombasa in Kenya from January 17, 2024, and Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia from February 10.

With a current network encompassing more than 120 destinations across 54 countries and operated by a modern fleet of 84 Boeing 737 aircraft, Flydubai continues to grow and enhance its connectivity. The airline’s commitment to excellence was underscored at the Dubai Airshow, where it made significant announcements, including a landmark order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the unveiling of a multimillion-dollar Full-Flight Simulator and Training Facility, and the announcement of a purpose-built MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility.

Flydubai’s dedication to delivering top-notch services has earned it the “Four-Star Major Airline” rating by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), further solidifying its position as a leading force in the aviation industry.
