Expo City Dubai Sets New Guinness World Record and Unveils Exciting Season of Events and Entertainment

Expo City Dubai, the vibrant hub of innovation and creativity, has achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest interactive immersive dome. The spectacular Al Wasl Plaza, which serves as the heart of this futuristic community, now spans an impressive 24,038 square meters. What sets this dome apart is its immersive capabilities, allowing visitors to interact with it through augmented reality (AR) using their mobile devices. For instance, by focusing a smart device on any point of the 360-degree projection, visitors can summon a computer-generated flock of birds, creating a truly dynamic experience.

The dome’s laser light projections and computer-generated content offer a multisensory encounter, engaging both visual and auditory senses. Alwaleed Osman, official adjudicator at Guinness World Records, lauded the architectural excellence of Al Wasl Plaza, affirming its status as a distinguished and awe-inspiring structure. The recognition of this achievement underscores Expo 2020’s unwavering dedication to innovation and excellence.

In addition to this groundbreaking accomplishment, Expo City Dubai has unveiled a dynamic season of events and entertainment. Among the highlights is the opening of Al Wasl Plaza Café, a homegrown brand offering Arabic fusion cuisine. Diners will not only savor delectable dishes but also bask in the ambiance created by 32,000 floral lights in the garden. The café is poised to become a hub of culinary creativity and innovation, collaborating with Emirati chefs to craft signature food and beverage offerings.

Expo City Dubai is set to host the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) from November 30 to December 12. This significant event underscores the city’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness. Furthermore, a series of captivating artistic pursuits, including the Dubai Calligraphy Biennale, Japanese VR/NFT artist Aimi Sekiguchi’s live painting performance, and Emirati artist Mattar Bin Lahej’s mesmerizing creation, are slated to captivate audiences.

The calendar is replete with a diverse range of events, including the inaugural Artificial Intelligence (AI) Film Festival, Winter City, and the Middle East debut of the electronic dance music festival Untold. Expo City Dubai is also dedicated to promoting sports and fitness activities, with the Dubai Half Marathon and the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge on the horizon. The return of the Hai Ramadan festival will further celebrate the spirit of the Holy Month.

Expo City Dubai’s upcoming season promises a tapestry of experiences, uniting cutting-edge technology, artistic expression, culinary delights, and a commitment to well-being. It cements the city’s status as a dynamic hub of creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange.
