Dubai Celebrates Public Transport Day with Exciting Prizes and Events

On Friday, November 1, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will commemorate Public Transport Day with a number of fun events and chances for commuters to win amazing prizes.
This year, the festivities will run from Monday, October 28, until the day of the event, highlighting the importance of public transportation in the city.

Celebrating Regular Users:
As part of the festivities, RTA will give 1 million Nol+ points to regular public transportation users. These points can be exchanged for a variety of services offered by the public transportation system. The goal of this project is to promote the use of Dubai’s public transportation systems, such as the metro, trams, public buses, and maritime transportation, by more locals and tourists. The celebration’s theme this year is “Good for you, Great for Dubai,” which highlights the advantages that public transportation offers to both people and the city as a whole.

Public Transport Champions
The RTA will honor frequent users across six distinct categories, selecting three winners from each category to be crowned “Public Transport Champions.” The categories include:

Most frequent user from 2009 until November 1, 2024
Most frequent user during the week of Public Transport Day 2024
Most frequent RTA employee user
Most frequent People of Determination user
Most frequent senior citizen user
Most frequent student user
The champions will be rewarded as follows:

1 million Nol+ points for first place
500,000 Nol+ points for second place
250,000 Nol+ points for third place
At a special ceremony, these honorees will be recognized for their dedication to public transportation in Dubai.

The Mysterious Man Challenge
A highlight of the Public Transport Day celebrations is the “Mysterious Man Challenge,” which invites participants to embark on a fun scavenger hunt at Metro stations from Wednesday, October 30, to Friday, November 1. Over three days, one lucky winner will be selected daily to receive a cash prize of Dh10,000. Additionally, the winner on November 1 will also take home a 50-gram gold bar, adding even more excitement to the event.

The goal of this year’s Public Transport Day, according to Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Sector, is to encourage locals and tourists to contribute to making Dubai the greatest place in the world to live. People can support a sustainable urban lifestyle by selecting RTA’s public transportation services, which offer a range of choices. To get to transport stations, this entails combining soft mobility choices like walking, e-scooters, and bicycles with public transportation.
