Dubai’s Parkin Launches New Parking System for Mall of the Emirates

New Seamless Entry System to Ease Traffic Flow, Improve Customer Experience, and Maintain Fixed Fees

Dubai Introduces Barrierless Paid Parking System Across Major Malls

Starting January 1, 2025, Dubai will introduce a cutting-edge, barrierless paid parking system across three popular malls: Mall of the Emirates (MoE), City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif. This innovative system, developed by Parkin in collaboration with Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Properties, promises to streamline mall parking for millions of annual visitors, enhancing convenience and reducing congestion.

New Technology for Barrierless Parking
Traditional entry and exit barriers will be removed by Parkin’s revolutionary “seamless parking” system, enabling cars to enter and depart parking lots without pausing. When a car enters, sophisticated cameras will read its license plate, automatically recording the time it was in and how long it was there.

Instead of requiring physical tickets or validations, drivers will receive real-time notifications via SMS or the Parkin app, detailing parking fees based on time spent.

Customers can pay through the Parkin app or website, giving them a flexible and smooth payment experience. The system’s smart design aims to significantly reduce bottlenecks and streamline vehicle flow, accommodating over 20 million cars annually across the three participating malls.

User Experience and Customer Convenience
It is anticipated that this cutting-edge technology would maximize parking for the 21,000 total spots spread throughout the three malls, turning one of Dubai’s largest shopping destinations into a shining example of contemporary parking efficiency. According to Parkin CEO Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, the system would “reduce congestion and enable smooth traffic flow, enhancing the overall customer experience at some of Dubai’s busiest retail locations.”

Parkin’s Development and Growth
The goal of Parkin, a publicly traded joint stock company on the Dubai Financial Market, has been to extend its intelligent parking systems into privately held business buildings, such as shopping centers, airports, and other busy locations. Following comparable success stories at other significant sites, Parkin’s larger plan to reimagine parking infrastructure in Dubai includes the barrierless parking solution as a crucial step.

Expanding on Existing Barrierless Frameworks
There are already barrierless parking systems in place in Dubai, including the one at Dubai Mall, where parking costs are immediately taken out of Salik accounts. Nonetheless, MoE, City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif will be the first to incorporate Parkin’s cutting-edge technology, giving consumers greater options through a direct notification system separate from Salik.

Fixed Fees for a Five-Year Term
Under the new five-year contract with Majid Al Futtaim, mall parking fees will remain unchanged, ensuring cost predictability for shoppers while maintaining revenue for mall operators. The shift promises substantial benefits in customer satisfaction, with faster entry and exit times and reduced wait times.

This initiative represents a significant shift in Dubai’s parking infrastructure, positioning the city as a leader in efficient and customer-centric urban mobility solutions.
