Dubai Municipality Awards Al Mamzar Beach Phase 2 Contracts

Innovative designs to transform Al Mamzar Corniche into a top beach destination by 2025

Dubai Municipality Accelerates Al Mamzar Beach Development with AED 400 Million Investment

In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Municipality has awarded contracts for the second phase of the ambitious Al Mamzar Beach Development Project.

The project, which will cost AED 400 million in two stages, intends to make Al Mamzar Corniche Beach a world-class beach destination by fusing state-of-the-art infrastructure with sustainable practices. By the end of 2025, both phases should be finished.

A Goal of Greatness

The second phase aims to improve the Al Mamzar Corniche beachfront by adding cutting-edge elements that raise the bar for beach tourism. The project intends to address sustainability and climate resilience while bridging the natural beauty of Al Mamzar Creek and Corniche with contemporary amenities that adhere to international standards.

The Al Mamzar Beach Development Project underscores Dubai’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

The property, which covers 125,000 square meters, features a dedicated women’s beach with exclusive, guarded access and specially designed attractions including kids’ play zones, sports clubs, night swimming pools, and retail establishments.

Creative Facilities and Design

One of the project’s most notable features is the network of running, walking, and cycling paths that connect Al Mamzar Creek Beach and Al Mamzar Park, spanning more than 1,000 meters. The first of its sort in the area, this distinctive design promotes a fusion of park and beach experiences. In addition, the project features large green areas that are beautifully designed, resulting in a lively and eye-catching setting.

Key facilities in the second phase include:

Seasonal Event Zones: 5,000 square meters of space used for activities and events.
Sports and leisure facilities include a 2,000-square-meter skateboarding facility and several child-friendly play areas.
To ensure a seamless experience, upgraded visitor facilities include restrooms, changing areas, showers and beach chairs.

The development also integrates smart technology such as AI-powered surveillance systems, tools for detecting and rescuing drowning victims, and smart lockers that further enhance visitor comfort and safety.

Economic and Tourism Boost

The project also aims to promote economic growth by bringing in leisure areas, food and beverage establishments, and waterfront restaurants. With the help of these amenities, Dubai hopes to draw in both domestic and foreign visitors, solidifying its standing as a major international destination for travel and leisure.

“This development reflects our dedication to making Dubai the world’s best city to live, work, and visit,” said Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, underscoring the project’s strategic significance. Our goal is to raise the bar for tourism and recreation on a worldwide scale by fusing ecological methods with contemporary infrastructure.

Phase One Progress

Work on the first phase of the project, which began in June 2024, has reached 45% completion. Covering an area of 275,000 square meters, it features a 200-meter pedestrian pontoon bridge connecting the two banks of the creek, a 5-kilometer walkway, and dedicated running and cycling tracks. Other highlights include night swimming facilities, jet ski marinas, barbecue areas, and comprehensive visitor amenities such as toilet blocks, changing rooms, and 1,400 parking spaces.

Sustainable Future for Dubai’s Beaches

A key component of Dubai Municipality’s initiatives to provide top-notch recreational areas that serve a varied populace is the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project. In addition to enhancing the city’s appeal as a premier travel destination, the program supports Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to promote long-term economic growth and prosperity, by fusing creative ideas with sustainable infrastructure.

With its careful blending of contemporary conveniences with ecological responsibility, Al Mamzar Beach is poised to become a model for other urban coastal developments worldwide.
