The Dubai Municipality has completed seven major beautifying projects aimed at improving the roadside areas and major intersections along Sheikh Zayed and Al Khail Roads.

The AED 245 million project, which spans more than 1.4 million square meters, is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve its green spaces and visual appeal.

The goal of these projects is to combine expansive greenery with urban character in a distinctive way while adhering to the strictest ecological planting guidelines.

These included 6,500 trees and 2.5 million flowers and ornamental plants. To guarantee sustainability, sophisticated irrigation systems that use less water have been installed.

Four projects were carried out on Sheikh Zayed Road covering an area of 843,000 square meters, including Al Yelays Street and Al Jameel Street, as well as the main intersections on the sides of Sheikh Zayed Road from Umm Suqeem Street to Al Yelays Street.

The planting includes nearly 1.5 million flowers and plants and 3,500 trees, 290,000 square meters of soil mulch.

Meanwhile, three beautification projects on Al Khail Street cover 625,000 square meters. These include intersections with Al Maidan Street, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Street and Umm Suqeem Street.

One million flowers, three thousand trees, and fourteen thousand square meters of soil mulch are being planted here.

With plans to plant 185,000 trees in 2023 alone, Dubai Municipality will further solidify its commitment to environmental sustainability by expanding the city’s green space to 234 hectares.
