Dubai-Based Carriers Adjust Flight Operations Amid Escalating Israel-Palestine Conflict
Dubai-based airlines, Emirates and Flydubai, have announced reductions in their daily flights to and from Tel Aviv in response to the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine. Starting from October 13, 2023, these adjustments are in line with the evolving situation in the region.
Emirates, a prominent carrier, will scale down its operations to and from Ben Gurion International Airport, reducing its three daily return flights to one. The amended schedule, flight EK933/934, will be in effect until October 31, 2023. The airline assured passengers that they are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining continuous communication with relevant authorities.
Travellers impacted by these changes are advised to reach out to their respective booking agents for alternative flight options or refunds. Notably, Emirates will be waiving change and cancellation charges for tickets issued on or before October 11, 2023, for travel until November 30, 2023.
Flydubai, which currently operates four return flights daily, will also revise its services to and from Israel during this period. From October 13 to October 31, 2023, the airline will streamline its flight schedule to Ben Gurion Airport, operating two daily flights: FZ 1549/1550 and FZ 1209/1210. The airline remains vigilant, maintaining close contact with authorities to monitor the situation’s developments.
For passengers affected by these alterations, Flydubai advises contacting their contact centre in Dubai or the flydubai travel shop, as well as reaching out to their respective travel agents for rebooking or refund options.
The adjustments in flight operations reflect the airlines’ commitment to passenger safety and the fluid nature of the situation. As the situation continues to evolve, both airlines remain in constant communication with authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of their passengers.
