Dubai Airshow 2023 Records Over $101 Billion in Aviation Deals, Named Largest Edition

The Dubai Airshow 2023, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, concluded as the largest edition in its history, witnessing over $101 billion in aviation deals. The event attracted more than 135,000 attendees, marking a notable 30% increase in footfall compared to the previous edition. The showcase featured significant deals, including Emirates’ order of $52 billion for 95 additional wide-body aircraft, Ethiopian Airlines Group’s memorandum of understanding for 11 Airbus A350-900s, and airBaltic’s incremental order for 30 A220-300s. Other announcements highlighted the growing importance of space and future technologies, with the UAE Space Agency unveiling the timeline of the MBR Explorer for the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA). Additionally, Tawazun Council signed contracts worth AED 23.06 billion ($6.3 billion) with local and international companies, and Dubai Airports announced a partnership with Intelak Hub, an innovation incubator focused on travel, tourism, and aviation. The next edition of the Dubai Airshow is scheduled for 2025 at Dubai World Central (DWC), Al Maktoum airport.
