Dubai RTA reduces Bus-On-Demand fare to just Dh2

Fare Reduction Aims to Improve Traffic Flow and Expand Service Across Dubai

Dubai RTA Slashes On-Demand Bus Fare to Dh2 for Business Bay Area

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant fare reduction for its on-demand bus service in the Business Bay area. From December 20, passengers will pay just Dh2, down from Dh5.

“The bus fare reduction initiative in the Business Bay area will improve traffic flow, contributing to smooth movement in this key area,” said Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

The bus-on-demand service, accessible through the Dubai Bus on Demand app, connects selected areas using the mall’s public buses. Users can determine their routes and pay their fares directly through the app.

“The service provides an innovative solution for first and last mile journeys, bridging the gap between passengers’ residences and the nearest public transport stations,” Shakri added.

The RTA intends to deploy forty-one buses to expand the service to ten regions by mid-2025.

According to Shakri, “the service is expected to see widespread growth among public transport users,” underscoring its potential to attract passengers and improve connectivity in Dubai.
