Connectivity Everywhere: Dubai’s Extensive Free Wi-Fi Network
As of Wednesday, there were approximately 23,600 free Wi-Fi locations throughout Dubai, according to the authorities. The “majority of Dubai’s metropolitan expanse” is covered by these sites, which are spread throughout a wide variety of facilities.
At parks, beaches, malls, and other public places, residents and tourists have access to free WiFi.The Dubai Digital Authority had just unveiled a plan to advance the new stage of the emirate’s digital goals when this happened.
The emirate’s digital journey, which began more than 20 years ago with the debut of its e-government program, was made clear by the authority, which highlighted how far the emirate has gone. In 2013, the Smart Government Plan was launched, and by the end of 2021, a full digital program will have done away with paper transactions altogether.
Dubai has now set its sights on becoming the world’s digital capital. Its digital penetration is highlighted by figures that the authorities have released:
99.5 percent of government services have been digitalized.
The goal of a paperless government has been fully attained.
Currently, 87% of all transactions involving government services are digital.
