In the second week of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” national relief campaign, volunteers and organizations gathered for a second drive at the Exhibition Centre, Dubai Expo City. With 2,000 volunteers participating, the event collected 250 tonnes of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and shelter equipment.
This campaign, aimed at easing Lebanon’s ongoing crisis, reflects the UAE’s dedication to global humanitarian efforts. So far, approximately 1,000 tonnes of aid have been collected, offering vital support to the Lebanese people.
High-Level Leadership Support
The campaign follows the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with oversight by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and supervision from H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. These efforts underscore the UAE’s focus on supporting global communities in need.
Working Together, UAE Charities
24 well-known donor groups participated in the event, with Dubai Cares and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) serving as its leaders. The Big Heart Foundation, Sharjah Charity International, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable Foundation, and numerous more organizations were among the participating organizations.

Maintaining a Tradition of Caring Leadership The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan left behind a compassionate legacy that is being carried on by these initiatives, according to Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and a member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. In response to global difficulties, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed upholds this ideal by encouraging solidarity and giving.
