Abu Dhabi Halts Yas Island Project Over Environmental Violations
A major construction project on Yas Island has been put on hold by Abu Dhabi authorities.
Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) said in a social media post that the project has been temporarily suspended due to repeated violations of environmental standards.
The decision comes after thorough studies and public concerns about increased water pollution, including high turbidity and significant changes in water quality.
The project will remain on hold until all corrective measures are implemented to meet strict environmental compliance, EAD confirmed.
Authorities in the emirate close establishments if they pose a risk to public health. Two restaurants in Abu Dhabi were recently closed for violating food safety laws.
