Abu Dhabi’s maritime prowess continues to soar as it secures its position among the elite in the global maritime landscape. In the latest release of the esteemed 2024 Leading Maritime Cities (LMC) report, Abu Dhabi has achieved a remarkable feat, leaping an impressive 10 spots to claim the 22nd position worldwide. This significant ascent underscores Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a formidable maritime hub, renowned for its excellence and innovation on the international stage.

Published in Singapore, the LMC Report is a biennial benchmarking study conducted in collaboration between DNV and Menon Economics. It serves as a comprehensive evaluation of 50 leading maritime cities across various critical sectors, including shipping, finance and law, maritime technology, and port and logistics. As a sought-after resource for maritime administrations, industry stakeholders, and the global maritime community, the report offers invaluable insights into the evolving dynamics of maritime excellence.

Abu Dhabi’s remarkable rise in the LMC rankings can be attributed to its unwavering commitment to fostering competitiveness and attractiveness within its maritime domain. Key advancements in areas such as board development and strategic initiatives have propelled the emirate to new heights, solidifying its status as a preferred destination for maritime investment and talent.

At the heart of Abu Dhabi’s maritime success story lies Abu Dhabi Maritime, a strategic entity established in 2020 through a visionary partnership between the AD Ports Group and the Municipalities and Department of Transport.
