A fine of Dh20,000 and imprisonment for fleeing from the scene of an accident, Officials alert

After being involved in a road accident in the UAE, do not flee the scene of the accident. Officials have warned that fleeing the scene of an accident could result in a fine of Dh20,000 and many other legal consequences, including imprisonment.
Generally, Dubai Police accident investigation experts at the scene of an accident use a high-tech system to identify the causes of accidents and track down the culprits.
Thus in order to identify the traffic violations that caused the accident and take legal action against them, the Traffic Accident Investigators at the Dubai Police Headquarters have highly trained detectives to find out the causes of the accidents. This will help to find out whether the accident was accidental or intentional.
Also, the efficient traffic accident investigators of Bur Dubai Police Station are said to have successfully closed all previously unsolved traffic accident cases in their jurisdiction.
This is said to be possible due to their excellent training and expertise and seamless collaboration with various key departments like Directorate General of Crime Investigation, Directorate General of Transport, General Operations Department, Forensic Evidence and Crime General Department and Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.
In particular, Brigadier Abdullah Qadem Soroor, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, under the direction of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Chief of Dubai Police, and under the supervision of Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander for Criminal Investigation Affairs, emphasized the center’s commitment to improving security in their area.
Last year, the center achieved 100% clearance rate for unknown traffic accidents. This achievement is said to be possible through the combined effort of highly trained personnel specialized in traffic accident investigations along with cutting edge AI and modern technology.
Unidentified Body in the accident:
Identification of the deceased in a road accident is an important event. Captain Ahmad Khalban bin Lahej, who heads the Traffic Registration Department at Bur Dubai Police Station, which investigates such cases, reported on a particular accident: A sedan car traveling on the road suddenly collided with a lorry traveling on the adjacent lane, causing the car to go forward about 100 meters and burst into flames. He also said that the driver died after being swallowed by the vehicle.
Captain Bin Lahage added that it was difficult to find the identity of the driver who died in the accident. He said that after the investigation team closely examined the accident site, they identified a paper lying 70 meters away, which belonged to a government agency related to health.
Captain Binn continues to speak and says that somehow the owner of the paper was discovered and when they tried to investigate him, he was still alive, much to everyone’s surprise, and here is a major turning point. He said that the person who died in the accident was a friend of the owner of the car and it was revealed that he had borrowed the vehicle for a need.
Similarly, in another unidentified road accident, where an unidentified car driver violated the signal, hit a scooter rider and fled, Captain Bin Lahage described Bur Dubai Police Station as facing the challenge of locating the person.
In this case, Captain Bin Lahage said that the car was found in a parking lot 2.8 kilometers away from the scene, and fingerprints were collected and investigated by forensic experts. Finally the accused has been arrested.
It is worth noting that Bur Dubai Police Station’s Traffic Accident Investigators have an essential commitment and contribution in solving many complex cases like the aforementioned unidentified accidents, improving safety and enforcing the law on Dubai’s roads.
