Xi Jinping and UAE President Celebrate 40 Years of Diplomatic Relations
In honor of the 40th anniversary of their nations’ diplomatic relations, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), sent each other congratulations on Friday.
President Xi described China and the UAE as “good partners for win-win cooperation,” highlighting their friendship and mutual trust. He emphasized that the partnership has flourished over the last forty years, marked by vigorous cultural exchanges, successful collaboration across sectors, matched development plans, strong political confidence, and effective communication on regional and global concerns.
Xi recalled that during Sheikh Mohamed’s May state visit to China, the two leaders came to a significant agreement that will direct the course of China-UAE relations going forward. He pledged to strengthen the all-encompassing strategic cooperation, viewing this anniversary as a fresh opportunity to advance regional and international peace and security for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Sheikh Mohamed responded by expressing his sincere greetings to Xi and wishing for continued development, prosperity, and greater collaboration between the two nations in a number of fields. For the sake of both countries’ citizens, he reiterated the UAE’s commitment to fortifying its all-encompassing strategic alliance with China.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Chinese Premier Li Qiang also sent each other congratulations on the same occasion. Premier Li stated that China is willing to collaborate with the UAE in order to further strengthen the all-encompassing strategic alliance by implementing the commitments made by the two heads of state during the 40th anniversary. Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the sentiment in his statement, highlighting the UAE’s dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting collaboration in a variety of fields.
