U.S. Approves $1.4 Billion Arms Deal with UAE Ahead of Trump’s Regional Visit

The U.S. State Department has approved a $1.4 billion military equipment sale to the United Arab Emirates just days before President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to the Middle East.
The deal underscores Washington’s continued security and economic cooperation with Gulf allies.

The sale includes six Boeing-made CH-47F Chinook helicopters and additional equipment and support systems, including components for the F-16 fighter jet. Boeing and Honeywell have been identified as prime contractors for the deal.

According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the equipment will aid the UAE in missions such as search and rescue, disaster relief, humanitarian operations, and counterterrorism efforts.

Highlighting the UAE’s strategic importance, the State Department stated, “The United Arab Emirates is a vital U.S. partner for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.”

President Trump is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE during the week. His agenda includes diplomatic talks focusing on the Gaza situation and Iran, as well as promoting U.S. business and trade interests in the oil-rich Gulf nations.

In a separate development, Trump is reportedly set to receive a $400 million Boeing 747 aircraft from Qatar for official use, potentially serving as a future version of Air Force One.
