Elevating the allure of Kalba in Sharjah, the much-anticipated “Hanging Gardens” officially opened its doors on Friday, March 8, presenting a captivating blend of natural splendor and architectural brilliance. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the esteemed Ruler of Sharjah, presided over the inauguration, marking a significant stride in the region’s tourism landscape.
Sprawling Oasis: Encompassing a vast expanse of 1.6 million square feet and soaring to an elevation of 281 meters above sea level, the Hanging Gardens stand as a testament to horticultural ingenuity. Adorned with over 100,000 trees, this natural haven introduces a new era of greenery to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Royal Exploration: Dr. Sheikh Sultan, in a detailed exploration, delved into the intricacies of the garden. From meticulously landscaped green spaces to vibrant blossoms gracing its terraces, the Ruler immersed himself in the harmonious blend of nature and design. The visit was enhanced by a musical performance from local school students, expressing admiration and appreciation.
Architectural Marvel: At the heart of the garden lies the central restaurant, an architectural gem with a classic semi-circular design. Offering seating for 215 guests, it provides panoramic views of the meticulously landscaped gardens and cascading waterfalls, according to the Emirates News Agency.

Pathways to Tranquility: A network of mountain climbing paths, cleverly divided into three levels, unfolds before explorers, offering panoramic views of lush agricultural landscapes, cascading waterfalls, dense foliage, and vibrant blooms. For a more leisurely experience, an excursion train awaits, capable of accommodating up to 55 passengers on an enchanting 820-meter journey through the verdant landscape.

Thoughtful Facilities: The park is designed with visitor convenience in mind. With 262 parking spaces, designated areas for disabled parking, electric vehicle charging stations, restrooms, prayer rooms, and a cafeteria offering light refreshments, the Hanging Gardens prioritize a seamless and enjoyable experience for every guest.
