UAE Weather: Yellow Alert for Rain; Speed Limits Lowered for Safety

NCM Alerts Residents to Expect Rain, Dust Storms, and Reduced Visibility

Yellow Rain Warning Issued as Weather Conditions Change Across UAE

On Monday, July 15, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a yellow warning. This alert indicates significant weather changes expected across the UAE, particularly due to anticipated rainfall. The NCM has also warned about dust storms driven by strong winds that will affect visibility and air quality throughout the day.

Weather Alerts and Safety Measures

Earlier that morning, the NCM issued another yellow alert from 4 AM to 8:30 AM. This alert focused on the formation of fog, which can drastically reduce visibility in certain areas. As a result, Abu Dhabi Police urged all motorists to exercise extreme caution. They advised drivers to adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic boards. Following these safety guidelines is crucial to prevent accidents during low-visibility conditions.

Daily Weather Forecast

The NCM forecasts that the weather will remain fair to partly cloudy throughout the day. Temperatures in Abu Dhabi are expected to range between 29℃ and 43℃. Meanwhile, Dubai will see slightly higher temperatures, hovering between 30℃ and 42℃. These temperature ranges reflect the typical summer heat experienced in the region.

In the early morning, low clouds will form over the East Coast. As the day progresses, convective clouds may develop in the eastern regions, which could influence localized weather patterns. This variability is typical for summer in the UAE, where conditions can shift quickly.

Evening and Night Conditions

As night approaches, humidity levels will increase significantly. This rise in humidity can lead to the formation of fog or mist, particularly in coastal areas. Residents should remain vigilant, as this can further reduce visibility during nighttime travel. Moderate winds will persist throughout the day, with occasional gusts that may increase, making conditions feel cooler but also stirring up dust.

Sea Conditions

The sea conditions will remain relatively calm. The Arabian Gulf will experience slight waves, making it safe for maritime activities. However, by Tuesday morning, the Oman Sea may see slight to moderate conditions, which could affect fishing and other water activities. Mariners should stay updated on local forecasts to ensure safety on the water.

The NCM’s proactive weather alerts play a vital role in keeping residents and visitors informed. By providing timely updates, they help the community prepare for varying weather conditions across the UAE. Staying informed about weather changes is essential for safety and planning daily activities.

Residents are encouraged to follow NCM updates and heed any warnings to ensure their safety during unpredictable weather events.
