MoHRE Launches Four Key Services for Visa Violators During UAE Amnesty
ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has launched four services for visa violators to adjust their status without incurring fines or additional consequences during the two-month amnesty period.
The visa amnesty program, launched on Sunday, September 1, gives criminals a grace period until Thursday, October 31 to correct their visa status or leave the country.
Services provided by the Ministry include:
Issuance of work permits
Renewal of work permits
Cancellation of work permits
Processing of job abandonment complaints
Individuals with expired work or residence permits and those involved in a dispute to abandon work, whether they are employed in institutions or as domestic workers, can access services.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security under the slogan “Towards a Safer Society” and will target violators before September 1, 2024.
During the amnesty period, exemptions from fines can be obtained for non-execution of business contracts or renewal of work permits.
The Ministry offers applications for adjustment of status through its website, MOHRE mobile app and commercial and domestic worker service centres.
The ministry encourages UAE employees and employers to use a program that allows violators to continue working or leave without legal or financial penalties.
