Dubai Roadworks: Delays Expected on First Al Khail Street
There will be construction on First Al Khail Street from the Al Manara Street intersection to Latifa Bint Hamdan Street beginning on December 13, 2024, therefore drivers in Dubai are advised to anticipate delays. For a more comfortable trip, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) advises early departure and the use of other routes. Drivers should heed traffic signals and think about taking detours to avoid traffic jams.
Al Maktoum Bridge Maintenance: Alternative Routes
In addition to the ongoing works on First Al Khail Street, the RTA has also issued a notice about possible delays due to maintenance on Al Maktoum Bridge. The bridge will be closed during specific hours until January 16, 2025, leading to temporary diversions for bus routes. Motorists are encouraged to plan their travels using the following alternative routes:

Infinity Bridge via Baniyas Road, Al Khaleej Street, Corniche Street
Al Shindagha Tunnel via Baniyas Road, Al Khaleej Street

Infinity Bridge or Al Shindagha Tunnel via Tariq Bin Ziyad Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, Al Khaleej Street
Al Garhoud Bridge via Oud Metha Street, Sheikh Rashid Road
Business Bay Crossing via Oud Metha Street, Al Khail Road
Al Ain: Nahyan First Street Lane Closures in Part
The Abu Dhabi Mobility Department has declared that Nahyan First Street in Al Ain will have partial lane closures from December 14, 2024, to January 4, 2025. During this time, traffic will be rerouted to the other side. It is recommended that drivers exercise caution and abide any traffic detours.
Fujairah Road Closures: Triathlon Championship Event
Fujairah Police have also announced temporary road closures on December 14–15, 2024, from 4 am to 12 pm, in preparation for the 5th Fujairah International Triathlon Championship and the West Asia Triathlon Championship. Roads affected by the closures include:
- Al Rughaylat Roundabout
- Fujairah Corniche (both directions)
- Al Mazallat Street (both directions)
- Beach Hotel Roundabout
